Makes 2 servings 2 small ripe pears ¼ cup sugar 1 Tbsp vanilla extract 2 chai tea bags Garnish: Pure maple syrup Peel the pears, leaving the stem intact. Place the pears in a small saucepan with the sugar, vanilla and tea bags and add enough water to cover pears. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Simmer 5 more minutes if your pears are firm. Drain the pears and let cool slightly. Serve warm over steel-cut oatmeal or vanilla ice cream. Garnish with syrup. |
